Spinach Bread

Hello everyone! I haven’t posted all weekend and I am going through blogging withdrawal! It was a great weekend! Friday, was my birthday and I feel as though my friend and family have been celebrating it all weekend! Thank you so much everyone!

Today is one of my blogger friend’s birthday. She has been so supportive of my blog and always has something nice to say.

Just reading her blog, Pure Complex,

shows me what a wonderful person she is.

So please visit her today and wish her a Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday BabyGirl!!!!!!!

So, needless to say, I haven’t cooked much this weekend. I have, however, a post or two that I haven’t published yet (Thank goodness!!) So, starting today, I am back on the bandwagon.

A few weeks ago, I came across a recipe that seemed absolutely delicious. It is what I consider, having my cake and eating it too. I LOVE Spinach and I LOVE making bread. What better way to the unite the forces of good with Spinach Bread! I had some friends coming over for dinner and I decided to keep things simple with Pasta and Meat Sauce. This bread makes an excellent accompaniment and also substituted as a side dish. Best part, my Goddaughter LOVED it!

Please visit The Novice Housewife‘s Blog for this delicious recipe! Only thing I did differently, is I made a steam bath for the bread to get a nice crust.

To make the steam bath, while preheating the oven, make sure there is two racks in the oven. Place on the lower rack a baking pan. Boil water. When you put the loaves of bread into the oven, pour the boiling water into the baking pan. Do not open the oven, while it is baking. It gives the bread a nice crunch with a soft inside.

ENJOY!

  1. Yum! I remember going to the amish stand at the local fair each year with my mother. While my sisters bought different flavor licorice, I bought a loaf of spinach bread!

    • The number of things we have in common are insane! When I went to Philly, I would always try to go to Reading Terminal Market, on days when the Amish had their food stands. I love their breads, quilts and Shoofly Pie!

  2. Ok lady you know I am not into bread but I would eat this lol. I LOVE spinach. And sidebar: Don’t ever get me and you in a room together, because I don’t think it would be big enough lol. Besides the ugly cry I got going on right now, Thank you so much Samina.. you are absolutely, a wonderful person inside and out. You are definitely a true blogger friend to me.. *hugs*.
