I am always looking/thinking for/of new snacks or appetizers. I started to think back to Thanksgiving. Every year I made a dish that called for Gruyère cheese and Parmesan. The dish is broiled until the cheeses melt and get crispy. After the meal is over, the one thing my sister and husband always go after is the crispy browned cheeses that stick to the bottom of that pan. Well, why not have that again? You can use any of your favorite cheeses (that you can melt and get browned) and a variety of different herbs. I used what I had and I ended up with a slightly salty but crispy yummy cheese crust. I placed them on Ritz crackers and Tada! and appetizer is born.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
1/4 cup Mozzarella Cheese
2 tablespoons of crumbled Havarti cheese
1/2 tablespoon of flour
Dash of dried basil
cooking spray
Directions:
- Combine cheeses and flour
- Spray a frying pan with cooking spray and heat.
- Drop a 1/2 a tablespoon of cheese mixture into frying plan and flatten.
- Cook both sizes of the cheese until golden brown.
- Place on cracker
This can be eaten with or without the crackers. It is just a yummy treat (But be careful! It is addicting!)
