Bacon and Onions Scones

I always visit FoodPress.com, which shows all the latest food posts on wordpress. It just so happened that I just caught this WONDERFUL recipe before it was removed from the front page.

Oh My God! This recipe is wonderful! I can’t believe how soft and airy the dough was and it made a perfect addition to my morning coffee. You seriously have to try this recipe!Please visit The Emerald Owl for this recipe.

Bacon and Onions Scones

I adapted this recipe for my kitchen and tastes:

  1. I used Hickory Smoked Bacon
  2. I used 1 whole onion
  3. Instead of lard, I used 4 tablespoons of vegetable shortening
  4. I Increased the flour by 1/4 cup, as 2 cups was not enough to form sticky dough

Mouth-watering scones did not last long in our house
