I had a craving for cupcakes the other day but I wanted to do something different (I get bored easily). I remembered, a long time ago, of seeing a blog where the poster made cupcakes in ice cream cones. Well, seeing as I have been having a rough time with my hands lately (dry, cracking and cuts) I thought this would be a simple dessert. So I purchased some plain vanilla cones (the one with flat bottoms) and some chocolate icing (they sell them in a can that can be sprayed!!.
Ingredients:
Your favorite cake mix
I used: My Yellow Cake recipe
vanilla ice cream cones that can stand up
Your favorite icing and any sprinkles or decor
Directions:
- Make your cake batter
- Place ice cream cones, standing up, in a cupcake tin (makes it easier to place the cones in the oven later)
- Fill cones 3/4 full with cake batter (it will rise and filling it too high will cause longer bake times)
- Bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes or until when you insert a toothpick, it comes out clean
- Allow to cool before decorating with frosting
